We are a grassroots urban farming and environmental justice organization based on Detroit’s Eastside, committed to transforming vacant land into spaces of healing, nourishment, and community empowerment
Closing the food loop
We turn thousands of pounds of food waste into compost to feed living soil throughout Detroit. Compost delivery and pick up are available.
Growing nutritious food
We grow a variety of hearty greens, root vegetables, corn, and squash that we distribute to farmer’s markets all over Metro-Detroit.
Building community
Our community is a huge part of our work, and we love hosting events and volunteer days on the farm.
From Waste to Wisdom, Soil to Soul
jøn kent grew up in Detroit until the age of 12. He moved to LA where he pursued his childhood dream of acting. After his childhood career, he fervently pursued his education starting at Santa Monica College (SMC). While attending SMC he became actively involved in protests, bringing attention to sustainability, environmental racism, and food injustice.
There he met Parker Jean as a fellow student government official and began a life-long friendship. Both having a shared interest in solving the climate crises and the importance of localized gardening, they…….

We are rooted in the belief that everyone deserves access to healthy food, clean air, and a just relationship with the land. Through regenerative farming, community-led composting, and cultural education, we work at the intersection of food sovereignty, environmental justice, and social healing.
